there is a nice little pond just a few blocks from the house where we can walk to feed the ducks. it's quite a popular place for the kids in the neighborhood - sometimes the ducks are already full by the time we wander over with our bag of bread crumbs. we toss our bread to them anyways, hoping they'll at least come close enough to check it out. millie chatters at them and i quack... hoping that she'll be able to make a connection between my noise and theirs. (we've been singing a whole lot of old macdonald lately, trying to get some animal sounds coming out of this little girl!)
she thinks that the ducks are delightful. it's a really nice way to spend part of our afternoon.
she had a hard time understanding that the stale bread was for the ducks... not her.
bako likes the ducks too. we don't dare bring jake down to see them - i'm certain that one of us would end up having to go in that yucky water after him. the ducks are grateful.
